Rules & Regulation
RAGGING within or outside institution is strictly prohibited under the “PROHIBITION OF RAGGING IN TAMILNADU EDUCATIONAL INSTITUTIONS EXTRACT OF ACT No.7 OF 1997” and “Under Section 26(1) (g) of the University Grants Commission ACT, 1956)”.
TO BE FOLLOWED IN LABORATORIES
- Attendance is compulsory for all lab sessions.
- Late comers for lab sessions will be marked absent.
- Students should carry Observation Notebook, Calculator and other materials required for the experiments.
- Students should have written the Tabulations, Equations in the Observation Notebook before attending the lab session.
- Students should wear lab coats and shoes.
- Experiments should be completed in time. Observations and calculations should be approved by staff on that day or on the next working day.
- Completed record notebooks of previous lab session must be submitted before next lab begins.
- Students who fail to submit the record notebooks will be marked absent for the lab session.
- Students who are absent for lab sessions continuously and who misbehave will be suspended for three days.
- Students who mishandle/break the apparatus in the laboratory will be paying for the breakages.
- In case of accidents/injuries/breakages students must report the matter to staff in-charge immediately.
GENERAL RULES
- Students must wear ID card inside the college campus.
- Students should not disturb the classes and avoid making noise on the corridors, lounges, etc.
- Students are strictly forbidden from smoking inside the campus.
- Students are not allowed to use mobile phones during Class Hours.
- Students can organize meetings within or outside campus only with the prior permission of the Principal/HOD.
- Students can use two-wheelers of capacity less than 100 cc only.
- They should have valid driving license and should wear safety helmets.
- They must ride the bike maintaining speed limit of 10 km/hour within the campus. Two wheelers of capacity more than 100 cc are to be parked near the gate.
- Students should handle college property without causing any damage.
ATTENDANCE RULES
- Staff members will mark attendance at the beginning of each period and for Lab sessions.
- Students who are not in the classroom/ Labs when attendance is taken will be marked absent.
- Students' attendance will be computed at the end of every month and entered in the progress report and also put up on the notice board.
- Attendance during examinations and weekly tests is compulsory.
- Absence from the tests and lack of 75% attendance will affect the sessional marks awarded as internal marks.
- Students who do not have a minimum of 75% attendance will not be allowed for the university examinations.
LEAVE RULES
- Students should attend the classes regularly.
- Leave of absence for valid reasons will have to be obtained from the Class Counselor in advance.
- In case of illness, medical certificate along with leave application should be produced.
- Attendance will be calculated on the basis of number of lecture/ lab periods attended.
HOLIDAYS:
All Sundays, and days marked in academic calendar.
DRESS CODE FOR STUDENTS
- A professional appearance is an absolute requirement to win respect and honour at college.
- Wearing T-shirts, Jeans and slippers are strictly not permitted in campus.
